An unconventional physical workout

achieved with remarkable results in case of arthritis

Andrei Gamulea

Although to those accustomed to the conventional approach to treating rheumatoid arthritis it will seem completely unusual, the unconventional method that will be indicated below has allowed rheumatic patients toand greatly improve physical fitness throughan unconventional physical workout consisting of physical exercises that harmoniously challenge the body's joints.

There have been some recent studies that have shown that it is much more helpful for rheumatoid arthritis sufferers to follow a rigorous and well-composed programme of dynamic exercise and, into a certain extent, demanding, to be carried out systematically instead of going through the already known algorithm of the conventional arthritis rehabilitation method which provides at most for menagerial gymnastics.

This unconventional conclusion was reached by researchers at Martin Luther University in Halle, who carried out a novel study involving patients from two rehabilitation clinics. The study involved 402 patients, aged between 18 and 60, suffering from rheumatoid arthritis (polyarthritis) or rheumatism of the spine (spondylitis). About 66% of the participants were women ].

Researchers from Professor Wilfried Mau's team have designed an unconventional physical training programme for strength, body resistance and motor coordination. Patients aretrained on the ergometer for 30 minutes, three times a week, and finally did a 30-minute circuit workout with strenuous, strength and coordination exercises. The unconventional program that was applied in this study also included some interactive ball and badminton games.

The researchers combined this unconventional training with a set of psycho-specific motivational energizers, during which patients andhave planned as precisely as possible the physical activities to perform on their own. Patients in the unconventional training group achieved significantly better physical capacity and inner contentment than patients in the control group, who underwent the classic, conventional rehabilitation programme.

Subsequently, at a scientific colloquium on rehabilitation held in Leipzig, researchers from Martin Luther University concluded that about 80% of the participants in this study particularly appreciated the unconventional treatment they received.was applied as "just right", and some (over 10%) even said that it was still "too little" for the physical resources that they had found, on this occasion, that they had and had at their disposal".

The unconventional physical training that was indicated above was then successfully taken over by the specialists at the rehabilitation centre in Bad Eilsen.

In some of the health centres in Romania this unconventional training method has been perfected and, based on certain traditional data of the millenary Ayurveda system, has been adapted to provide even better results, adapted to the specific constitution of the patients.

S-thus noted that when unconventional physical training is correlated with a certain discipline of physical rest and is carried out against the background of suchThe risk of a possible worsening of vata dosha is almost completely eliminated and thus increased physical demand coupled with an adequate resting background speeds up recovery time in rheumatoid arthritis patients.

Even though this is an unconventional approach, completely different from the conventional method of menage, this unconventional method of physical recovery is in full agreement with certain traditional data known for thousands of years within the millenary science of Ayurveda.
