The Ayurveda Congress, an opportunity for knowledge and training
The Ayurveda Congresses are organized annually by the National Association for the Promotion of Unconventional Medicines AMN-Romania, in collaboration with the Ayush Cell Information Centre and the Ayus Group Training Centre in Romania. The main objective of these landmark events is to promote the ancient Ayurvedic science, not only in Romania, but also internationally, through existing partnerships and collaborations.
Ayurveda, an ancient science at the crossroads of tradition and modernity
The Ayurveda Congress is a unique opportunity to bring to the forefront essential aspects of this discipline, through in-depth studies and presentations dedicated to its various branches, fields and specializations that the traditional system of Ayurveda contains. The event facilitates the exchange of knowledge in an active community of specialists and practitioners, providing participants with access to the latest discoveries and practical applications in the field.
The themes that are covered during the Ayurveda Congress come to highlight the constant concerns that the participants have developed through their training activities (courses, seminars, specialization programs in different branches of Ayurveda), through personal practice and as a result of acquiring this knowledge, information and methods that the Ayurvedic tradition makes available to them.
Ayurvedic fields of study and specializations
In the last 30 years, a considerable number of specialized areas of Ayurveda have become accessible for study and practice in Romania. The Ayush Cell Romania Information Center provides the appropriate framework for training in modern specializations for which the Ayurvedic tradition can provide not only valuable information with practical application, but also an innovative, fruitful perspective, bringing new solutions, new ways of solving various imbalances or health problems. Even if they are inspired by an ancient tradition, they are proving to be particularly topical.
For those beginning the study of Ayurveda, the basic specializations, such as Ayurveda-Padartha, Svasthya-Darshana and Prakriti-Nikasha, prove to be particularly useful for understanding the fundamentals of Ayurvedic science. Another area relates to the science of harmonious integration of the being with the natural environment, Svasthavritta, with its corresponding specializations. Another field is the science of the Ayurvedic characterization of natural substances, the field of Ayurvedic 'pharmacology', Dravyaguna. Another field is the Ayurvedic science of the wise use of medicinal plants, Vanaspati-Jnana, a particularly important branch with many possibilities of connection both with traditional Ayurvedic science and with modern concerns in the discovery and development of plant resources to meet the needs of correcting by natural means the problems with which human beings may be confronted.
A multidisciplinary and innovative approach
Thanks to the continuous efforts of the training centers, more and more Ayurvedic fields are available for study and practice in Romania. Participants in dedicated courses and seminars have already started to achieve concrete results, demonstrating the effectiveness of this traditional system applied in a modern context.
The Ayurveda Congress provides a platform to share these advances, highlighting the role of Ayurveda in fields such as alternative medicine, holistic nutrition and complementary therapies.
Congress papers were organized by sections: pratipada section - principles and directions of promoting Ayurveda today, achara section - personal and assisted Ayurvedic practice, samshodhana section - approach to Ayurveda through interdisciplinary research methods, paddhati section - modern applications of traditional Ayurvedic modalities, nidana section - modern applications of Ayurvedic diagnosis, aushadha section - practical observations on some Ayurvedic remedies, antarvishya section - interdisciplinarity of millenarian Ayurvedic science.
Motivations for the extended study of Ayurveda in Romania
The Ayurveda Congresses organized by the National Association for the Promotion of Unconventional Medicines AMN-Romania in collaboration with the Ayush Cell Information Centre and Ayus Group Training Centre in Romania provide an opportunity to get in touch with practitioners with years or decades of experience in Ayurveda study and practice. They have managed to translate their experience into results that deserve to be known by those interested in viable alternatives for flourishing health. These papers of the Ayurveda Congress are also a motivating starting point for all others who are studying or have started to study Ayurveda, so that they too can benefit from the very valuable knowledge that the Ayurvedic tradition has to offer.
The International Congress of Ayurveda is part of the national and international educational program initiated and supported by AMN - Romania since 1995.
