At the same time,\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0is also one of the most enigmatic figures in the history of Indian culture and spirituality.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">There are numerous written works attributed to\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0and also many more exceptional achievements, most of a paranormal or miraculous nature, which are said to have been accomplished, in various circumstances, by him. This is why Western scholars are inclined to believe that\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0is either a mythological character or assumes the existence of more than one being of that name,\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">However, according to the wise man's words\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Dalhana<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0is the editor of the\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Ayurveda<\/span>\u00a0which today we know as \"<span class=\"C-15\">Sushruta-<wbr \/>samhita<\/span>\". Apart from being an editor (<span class=\"C-15\">pratisamskarta<\/span>) of this vast work,\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0is also the author of the later added final portion of the work (<span class=\"C-15\">Uttara-<wbr \/>tantra<\/span>).\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0is the author of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Rasaratnakara<\/span>\u00a0and several herbal recipes with regenerative effect and famous therapeutic formulas.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-18\"><span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0is also known as the author of several works\u00a0<\/span>tantra<span class=\"C-14\">&#8211;<wbr \/>ice, as an Ayurvedic practitioner, physician and alchemist, roles that some modern scholars believe were performed by different human beings with the same name. Despite all these scholastic assumptions, Indian tradition, in unison with Chinese and Tibetan tradition, has always held that there was one exceptional being named\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">, who was both a poet and a philosopher, an Ayurvedic practitioner, an alchemist and an exceptional spiritual being, about whom it is said that he was<wbr \/>recorded as a saint. There are also many spiritual works in the Eastern tradition attributed to him.\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-18\"><span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0s-<wbr \/>was born as\u00a0<\/span>brahman<span class=\"C-14\">. The s-<wbr \/>was born in\u00a0<\/span>Vidarbha<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0in the region\u00a0<\/span>Mahakoshala<span class=\"C-14\">but also-<wbr \/>spent most of his life in<wbr \/>a monastery on Mount S<\/span>ri-<wbr \/>Parvata<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0or\u00a0<\/span>Sri-<wbr \/>Saila<span class=\"C-14\">located near the river\u00a0<\/span>Krishna<span class=\"C-14\">in the region\u00a0<\/span>Andhra-<wbr \/>pradesh<span class=\"C-14\">.\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0was the disciple of a realized being (<\/span>siddha<span class=\"C-14\">), called\u00a0<\/span>Sharadha-<wbr \/>pada<span class=\"C-14\">. He had direct links with the University\u00a0<\/span>Nalanda<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0and was his teacher\u00a0<\/span>Arya-<wbr \/>deva<span class=\"C-14\">who later became the mentor and coordinator of this spiritual school.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">A description of his life and achievements\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0existed in Sanskrit, but at present it has been lost, and it has been translated into Chinese by\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Kumarajiva,<\/span>\u00a0in 401 A.D. There are also some references in the Tibetan tradition, the most complete of which belongs to the historian\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Mud<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Taranatha<\/span>. According to these biographical fragments, it appears that\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0i-<wbr \/>followed the patriarch\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Parshva<\/span>\u00a0in the administration and leadership of that spiritual community for over 62 years. He was a close friend and advisor to the King of the region\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Satavahana<\/span>\u00a0who, in gratitude for the teachings and spiritual support he received from the<wbr \/>offered, built the monastery\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Sri-<wbr \/>Saila<\/span>in deep gratitude.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">Date of birth and period of life\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0are highly controversial and intensely debated by historians and biographers. Some historians place it around 57 BC, others around 23 AD, while some Western scholars say it is 120 AD. There are some opinions that point to the period 166-<wbr \/>200 AD, while the Indian historian\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Bhandakar<\/span>\u00a0places it around 278 AD. It is well known that\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0was a contemporary of the wise\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Kanishka<\/span>\u00a0and with the King of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Satavahana,\u00a0<\/span>so the most accurate association, which most biographers make, is between 80 and 104 AD.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-18\"><span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0is the author of the famous work\u00a0<\/span>Vaidya-<wbr \/>jiva-<wbr \/>sutra<span class=\"C-14\">, work which is placed in the de-<wbr \/>second position in the hierarchy of medical writings included in the series of fundamental spiritual treatises\u00a0<\/span>Tanjur<span class=\"C-14\">. The author of this work is known as\u00a0<\/span>Klu-<wbr \/>Sgrub (Nagarjuna)\u00a0<span class=\"C-14\">or<\/span>\u00a0Klu-<wbr \/>Sgrub\u00a0<span class=\"C-14\">times<\/span>\u00a0Snin-<wbr \/>Po (Nagarjuna-<wbr \/>Hridaya\u00a0<span class=\"C-14\">or<\/span>\u00a0Nagarjuna-<wbr \/>Garbha).<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0In the writings\u00a0<\/span>Tanjur<span class=\"C-14\">&#8211;<wbr \/>s,\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0is the author of 122 works, 6 of which are signed\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna-<wbr \/>Hridaya\u00a0<span class=\"C-14\">(or\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna-<wbr \/>Garbha<span class=\"C-14\">) and one of them\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">&#8211;<wbr \/><\/span>Pada<span class=\"C-14\">. Another work belonging to the sacred writings of the\u00a0<\/span>Tanjur<span class=\"C-14\">&#8211;<wbr \/>of the is signed\u00a0<\/span>Krishna<span class=\"C-14\">&#8211;<wbr \/><\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">. Even if they appear to be different authors, it should not be overlooked that the prefixes or suffixes associated with the base name\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">\u00a0namely\u00a0<\/span>Hridaya, Garbha, Pada or Krishna\u00a0<span class=\"C-14\">are additions that are often traditionally made in certain circumstances to highlight a particular spiritual endowment of the writer, in<wbr \/>a certain state of inspiration. In the Ayurvedic tradition in India, several of the alchemical works (<\/span>Rasa-<wbr \/>Shastra<span class=\"C-14\">) and famous medicine also belong to\u00a0<\/span>Nagarjuna<span class=\"C-14\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">Because of this diversity of recorded manifestations, most modern researchers have considered that there are four major directions revealing four hypostases in which the<wbr \/>manifested the wise\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>:<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">The first of these is the philosopher. As a philosopher,\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0was a contemporary of the poet\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Ashvaghosha<\/span>\u00a0and according to\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Rajatarangini<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0was a contemporary of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Kanishka<\/span>. In this respect it is recorded as the period in which\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0s-<wbr \/>manifested itself in this hypostasis between the first two centuries of the first millennium.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">The second hypostasis of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna\u00a0<\/span>is that of a tantric teacher, which is recorded as belonging to the 7th-<wbr \/>8 AD.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">The third hypostasis of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0is that of the founder of Indian alchemy and of the science of obtaining essences (<span class=\"C-15\">Rasa-<wbr \/>Shastra<\/span>).\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0was also known as\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Siddha<\/span>&#8211;<wbr \/><span class=\"C-15\">\u00a0Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0or\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna, the One who has attained spiritual perfection<\/span>. Indian spiritual tradition holds that the secret teaching of alchemy, which\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0practiced-<wbr \/>o successfully, i-<wbr \/>has allowed them to manifest themselves, seemingly paradoxically, in different poses and at different times.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">The fourth hypostasis of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0is the author of several Ayurvedic works. He is the editor of the secret work of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Ayurveda Sushruta-<wbr \/>samhita<\/span>. According to some scholars, he was a disciple of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Bhaskara<\/span>author of the paper\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Yoga-<wbr \/>ratnamala<\/span>. He became famous as an Ayurvedic practitioner around 1240 AD.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">But whatever the various opinions on his biography, the wise\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0has been and continues to be much appreciated and loved, both in India and Tibet, on the one hand because of his contribution to the spread of the age-old science of\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Ayurveda<\/span>&#8211;<wbr \/>her and also because of her outstanding contribution to the works that make up the sacred scriptures of the\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Tanjur<\/span>&#8211;<wbr \/>of the.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"Normal P-17\"><span class=\"C-14\">The Sage\u00a0<span class=\"C-15\">Nagarjuna<\/span>\u00a0remains for us an example of a spiritual being of extraordinary complexity and comprehensiveness, with a very rich, impressive life and who offered a true spiritual model of wisdom and success in many areas of spirituality.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagarjuna The sage Nagarjuna is unanimously regarded in Eastern tradition as one of India's most remarkable thinkers.
